Nearly 100 years, actually. What began in 1926 as a two-man firm in downtown Birmingham has grown into a highly respected provider of engineering services with offices in Birmingham, Huntsville and Montgomery, Alabama and Newnan, Georgia. Mark is the President of Krebs Engineering and works out of the Birmingham office. Mark is originally from Birmingham and attended Auburn University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1993. Mark has almost 30 years of experience with water and wastewater collection, distribution, and treatment, as well as civil-site design.

Mark has almost 30 years of experience with water and wastewater collection, distribution, and treatment, as well as civil-site design. He began his career working for a large national design firm in Birmingham and Washington D.C. but has been with Krebs Engineering for the past 25 years. Mark’s experience includes planning, design, construction administration, and project management for all types of water, wastewater, and civil-site projects.
Mark maintains a Professional Engineering license in Alabama and Georgia and is a member of the American Water Works Association.
Mark and his wife, Julie, have three children and enjoy traveling, basketball, and being outdoors.
Jason Dearing is a 1995 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He is a Senior Associate at Krebs Engineering, Inc. and has over 27 years of experience in the planning, design and construction administration of water and wastewater systems. Jason has project management responsibilities for projects involving master planning, treatment plants, and collection and distribution systems. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama and Georgia. Jason is a graduate of Leadership Hoover and a member of the Water Environment Federation and American Water Works Association.
He lives in Homewood, AL with his two boys, Russell and Bennett. In his free time, Jason enjoys playing tennis.
Scott earned his Civil Engineering degree in 1995. Prior to joining Krebs in 1999, Scott was a Lieutenant in the United States Army. He now holds the rank of Captain. As a Senior Associate at Krebs, Scott is responsible for assisting with the design and construction review services of wastewater treatment plant process design, water treatment plant process design, stormwater and stormwater quality systems, potable water wells, water distribution system hydraulic evaluation and distribution models, sanitary sewer system hydraulic evaluation, and water transmission mains and sanitary sewers.
Scott is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama and Georgia. He is affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Water Works Association. Scott and his wife, Mary Beth, live in Hoover, Alabama and have two children. Scott and Mary Beth run an early morning boot camp program three days a week. In addition to staying active, Scott is also the fearless tank climbing pro at Krebs.
Caleb is a University of Alabama graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He joined Krebs in 2008. As a Project Engineer, Caleb is responsible for the completion of field surveying, design, preparation of drawings and specifications, and construction review activities for various water, natural gas, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and site development projects. He is also involved in the completion of field data collection for sanitary sewer master planning and system modeling; desktop sanitary sewer system modeling; water system model data entry, calibrations, and model operation.
Caleb is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama and Georgia and is a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council. Caleb also holds a Remote Pilot Certificate and frequently travels to job sites to film drone footage. Caleb and his wife, Lauren, live in Homewood, Alabama. They have one son, Noah, who keeps them very busy. In his free time, Caleb is an avid fisherman.
Kris is a 2010 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He joined Krebs in 2011. As an Associate of Krebs, Kris is responsible for management, design, and construction review services of wastewater treatment plant process design, water treatment plant process design, stormwater and stormwater quality systems, potable water wells, water distribution system hydraulic evaluation and distribution models, sanitary sewer system hydraulic evaluation, and water transmission mains and sanitary sewers.
Kris is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. Kris also serves as the Corporate Secretary for Krebs. Kris and his wife, Brittney, live in Mountain Brook, Alabama. They have two children, Vivienne and Clark. In his free time, Kris enjoys mountain biking, hunting, fishing, and home brewing.
Cari began her career at Krebs in 2007. She has an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Drafting and Design Technology from Wallace State. Cari is advanced in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil3D. In her role as CAD System Manager, she trains the CAD staff at Krebs and keeps them up-to-date on software systems, CAD platforms and plotting software.
Cari is key in transitioning to new software and training the staff on new systems. Cari lives in Gardendale, AL with her son, Austin. Cari enjoys camping and fishing and is an avid Alabama football fan.
Jacob graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama in 2016. Upon graduation, Jacob chose to begin his engineering career at Krebs, where he is now a Project Engineer. Jacob’s experience includes design, construction administration, and project management for both water and wastewater facilities, including experience in water and sewer modeling, water distribution and sanitary collection systems, water and wastewater treatment, master planning, and GIS mapping. Jacob is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama and Georgia.
Jacob and his wife, Lauren, live in Birmingham with their son, Levi, and daughter, Evelyn. In his free time, Jacob enjoys hunting, fishing, watching baseball, and spending time with friends and family.
Austin began his career at Krebs as an Engineer Intern before completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Upon graduation in May 2018, Krebs was honored that he chose Krebs to begin his engineering career. Austin’s experience includes design, construction administration, and project management for both water and wastewater facilities, and master planning to include developing GIS maps and hydraulic models for potable water systems. Austin is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama.
Austin and his wife, Courtney, live in Birmingham. Outside of work, Austin enjoys spending his time fishing, snowboarding, and playing softball.
Adam started his career with Krebs in 2020 after graduating from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Prior to attending UA, Adam was on a football scholarship at the Alabama State University while pursuing a degree in Applied Mathematics.
Adam is responsible for the completion of field surveying and inspections (PACP certified, water storage tanks), GIS data management, engineering design, preparation of drawings, reports, and specifications, as well as construction review tasks for a variety of projects, including potable water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and site development projects.
Adam and his wife, Avery, live in Birmingham. They enjoy spending time with their daughter, Charli, hitting the gym, and exploring the outdoors (kayaking, swimming, hiking, sightseeing, camping).
Maci earned her Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering degree from Auburn University. Maci began her career at Krebs upon graduation in May of 2021. Previously, Maci completed four semesters of water and wastewater work through the Cooperative Education Program at Auburn. Maci is responsible for the completion of field surveys, design, preparation of drawings and specifications, and construction review activities for various water, natural gas, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and site development projects.
Maci and her husband, Mitch, live in Pell City, Alabama, where their dog, Riley, rules the house. Maci enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Jacob joined the team at Krebs in 2021 after graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree. During his time at Auburn, he worked as an engineering peer tutor for the university and also completed an internship in the heavy civil construction industry.
Jacob is responsible for completing construction review tasks, developing GIS maps, preparing drawings, reports, specifications, and designs, and performing field surveying and inspections for various water, wastewater, and site development projects.
Jacob and his wife, Meg, live in Springville, Alabama. Jacob enjoys spending his free time fishing, traveling, and taking his dog, Timber, to the park.
Jill is a 1985 graduate of Auburn University and has been with Krebs since 2008.
Jill lives with her husband Clay (AU ’85) in Indian Springs. They both enjoy traveling and keeping their grandson, West.
Abigail earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 2021 and Master of Business Administration in 2022 from Jacksonville State University. She began her career at Krebs in April of 2023.
Abigail lives in Ashville, Alabama. Abigail enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog Cooper.
Jim is a 1979 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Prior to joining Krebs, Jim served the water and wastewater industry in technical sales, sales management, and business development for over 44 years with American Cast Iron Pipe Company. He has served for many years at both the local and national level with the American Water Works Association.
Jim and his wife, Suzie, live in Hoover, Alabama. In his free time Jim enjoys playing golf, traveling, reading, and fitness.
Rob is a 1999 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in Civil Engineering. He has over 15 years of experience in the design and construction of water and wastewater systems, and 12 years of experience as a heavy construction Project Manager. Rob’s responsibilities at Krebs include design and construction administration of water and wastewater treatment plants, water and wastewater distribution, and collection system projects. Prior to joining Krebs, Rob spent five years as a Project Manager at Brasfield & Gorrie managing wastewater and industrial projects.
Rob also worked for three years as a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager for a second-tier supplier in the automotive industry designing and installing conveyor and structural support systems for Mercedes, Honda, Volvo, and BMW automotive plants. Rob is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama. He and his wife, Sonya, live in the Bluff Park area of Hoover, Alabama. The couple has four daughters, with the youngest being a senior in high school. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing guitar.
Emma earned her Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering with a focus in Bioprocess Engineering at Auburn University. Emma started her career with Krebs upon graduation in May 2023. While in school, Emma did an Engineering Internship that allowed her to work with water and wastewater development and maintenance, where she learned about the complexity and importance of local utilities.
Emma is responsible for the completion of field surveys, design, preparation of drawings and specifications, and construction review activities for various water, natural gas, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and site development projects.
Emma lives in her hometown of Athens, Alabama, where she is a very involved member of the community. She is excited to be back, and to be with a company that cares about growing and maintaining the infrastructure of Alabama.
Ray is graduate a of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He began his career with Krebs in 2000. As a Senior Associate in our Montgomery office, Ray is responsible for utilities master planning, design, preparation of drawings and specifications, and construction review activities for various water, gas, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and site development projects. He works closely with numerous municipalities and universities in all aspects of master planning.
Ray is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama and Florida. He is affiliated with the National Society of Professional Engineers, Alabama Rural Water Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, and is a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council. Ray and his wife, Leigh Ann, live in Deatsville, Alabama with their three children, Ace, Harper, and Piper.
A graduate of Auburn University, Danny holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Engineering. Danny retired from the Montgomery Water Works and Sanitary Sewer Board after 21 years and began his career at Krebs in 2003. As Senior Associate, Danny is responsible for engineering work on the following project types: preliminary design of water and wastewater treatment facilities including demand/flow projections and treatment process selection; development of master plans for system improvements for water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and collection; design and construction review of water distribution, sanitary sewer collection, and storm sewer systems, and sanitary sewer investigation and rehabilitation projects.
He is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama and Florida. Danny is also affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers and the past President of the Alabama Society of Professional Engineers. Danny and his wife, Linda, live in Montgomery, Alabama.
Jonah is an Auburn University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biosystems Engineering. He joined Krebs in 2011 as a Project Engineer and is responsible for completion of field survey duties, preparation of project specifications, preliminary design of sanitary sewer, water distribution, storm drainage and site development projects, and data input and operation of modeling software.
He is also responsible for applying for regulatory permits; reviewing project submittals; communicating with the client to ensure all of their needs are met; and overseeing construction review activities for active projects. Jonah is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi and is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Jonah and his wife, Kimberly, live in Wetumpka, Alabama with their son, Weston.
Connor is an Auburn University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Connor began his career at Krebs upon graduation in May of 2021. Specializing in the transportation field, Connor previously completed one year of work at the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) as part of the Cooperative Education Program at Auburn.
Connor is primarily responsible for transportation-related design, drawing and revision of site plans, and storm and sewer system modeling and optimization. Connor and his wife, Lindsey, live in Prattville, Alabama. They have been involved with youth ministries since 2019 and work with young people to help them better navigate the transition to independence and adulthood.
Jason began his career with Krebs in 1998.
Jason lives in Jemison, Alabama, with his wife, Sherry. They have three daughters, Trinity, Emilee, and Tessa. Jason enjoys camping, hiking, and serving on mission trips with his church and other local churches.
Jane began her employment with Krebs in 2009.
Jane lives with her husband, Tim, in Wetumpka, Alabama. They enjoy life together and feel blessed to have a wonderfully supportive family.
Will is a graduate of Auburn University with a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He began his career with Krebs in 2023 with more than 20 years of experience as a consulting engineer. As an Associate in our Montgomery office, Will is responsible for project development and design, preparation of drawings and specifications, and construction review activities for various transportation, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and site development projects. He works closely with numerous municipalities in all aspects of civil engineering.
Will is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama. Will and his wife Jennifer live in Prattville, Alabama with their two children, Caleb and Libby.
Jarred is a Senior Associate for Krebs Engineering in the Newnan office. Jarred is originally from Newnan, Georgia and attended Auburn University where he received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering. Prior to joining Krebs in 2020, Jarred was the Senior Engineering Manager of a local firm’s water/wastewater division. Jarred’s professional experience in the consulting engineering business has been focused on project management, planning, design, and construction review of drinking water treatment & distribution systems and wastewater treatment & collection systems.
Jarred maintains a Professional Engineering license in Georgia, is a LEED Green Associate, and is a member of the American Water Works Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Georgia Association of Water Professionals.
Jarred and his wife, Haley, live in Newnan, Georgia. They have three children, Collins, Ellis, and Thomas. In his free time, Jarred enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
Brandon holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of South Alabama. Brandon began his career at Krebs in August 2021. Before joining Krebs, Brandon worked as a Graduate Research Assistant with the University of South Alabama and as a Civil Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Brandon is responsible for the completion of field surveying, design, preparation of drawings and specifications, and construction review activities for various water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and site development projects. Brandon and his wife, Kayla, live in Peachtree City, Georgia with their son, John Michael. In his free time, Brandon enjoys visiting new places and spending time with his family.
