Improvements to the storm sewer at Auburn University’s Jordan Hare Stadium were designed to resolve drainage problems associated with the drainage basin, including localized flooding in various buildings within the drainage basin including the proposed site of the Transportation Technology Center.
The projects consisted of two off-line underground detention basins with approximate volume capacities of 844,500 gallons and 1.168 million gallons, trash screens, control structures, flow splitter boxes, sediment removal boxes, storm water piping and drainage ditch clearing, grading and stabilization.
The project was scheduled in two phases to accommodate campus activities and work with other construction projects on campus. Phase I was completed in 13 months and included the north campus utilities relocation project for a total construction cost of $8,024,000. Phase II was completed in eight months for an approximate construction cost of $2,615,000.
