Rainey Road Elevated Water Storage Tanks 1 & 2

triangle triangle 2

In December of 1989, Carroll County Water Authority purchased an existing 500,000 gallon water storage tank from Brown Steel Contractors, Inc., formerly the historic R.D. Cole Manufacturing Comnpany, in Newnan, Georgia. The tank was dismantled at its current location, transported to the new site, modified to suit the water system requirements, and re-erected in 1990. As a result of increasing water system demands and needed maintenance and repairs, Krebs was selected to begin design of a new elevated water storage tank in December 2018. The design of Rainey Road Elevated Water Storage Tank No. 2 consisted of a new 500,000 gallon elevated storage tank, site piping improvements, and SCADA upgrades. Krebs provided construction inspection services during each phase of work which completed in May 2021.

Upon completion of Tank No. 2, Krebs developed a tank rehabilitation and improvement contract for the original water tank. The rehabilitation project consisted of the complete removal and replacement of interior and exterior coating systems. Krebs provided construction inspection services for installation of the new coating systems and the project was completed in April 2022.

Carroll County Water Authority’s proactive planning, design, and construction of these projects have optimized the function and resiliency of the water distribution system in the growing community.
